ReLi Auto Mega Electric Minivan Gets Second Update With New Battery and Suspension

Li Auto has unveiled a second update for its Mega electric minivan, featuring new aero disc wheels, a larger battery, more powerful rear motor, and a fully active suspension system. The updated MPV will be offered in two configurations priced between $78,400 and $82,900.

Li Auto is preparing a second update for its Mega electric minivan, one of the most distinctive luxury people movers on the Chinese market. New images released by Chinese automotive outlet Autohome show the updated model retains the bullet-train-like silhouette that made the original stand out, with the most visible change being a set of solid aero discs on the wheels that further improve the vehicle's aerodynamic efficiency. The discs are pictured in white, though buyers will reportedly also have the option of black discs for a more subdued look.

Beyond the wheels, Li Auto has added some chrome trim to the front end and made minor styling adjustments at the rear. Interior images have not been shared yet, but minor software tweaks are considered possible. The exterior changes are subtle, with most of the design carried over from the previous version, which itself followed the original 2023 unveiling and a 2025 refresh.

The more substantial updates are under the skin. According to EV reports, the new Mega will replace its dual-chamber air suspension with a fully active suspension system capable of directly applying force to the wheels, counteracting body roll through corners, and reducing pitch under braking. The powertrain also gets a boost: a larger 108 kWh CATL ternary lithium battery replaces the previous 102.7 kWh unit, and the rear-mounted motor now delivers 346 hp (258 kW), up from 328 hp (245 kW). The front motor is expected to remain at 208 hp (155 kW), bringing combined output to 554 hp (413 kW).

Range is expected to reach 441 miles (710 km) on the CLTC cycle, a notable figure for a vehicle of this size. The update also introduces four separate LiDAR units and rear-wheel steering, a feature that should improve maneuverability for a minivan with such a long wheelbase. Li Auto will sell the new Mega in two configurations: Home, priced at 529,800 yuan (about $78,400), and Ultra, priced at 559,800 yuan (about $82,900).

The Mega has been one of the more unusual entries in the luxury MPV segment since its debut, drawing attention for its aerodynamic, train-like profile rather than the boxy designs typical of most minivans. With this second update, Li Auto is refining the formula rather than reinventing it, focusing on technology and driving dynamics while keeping the exterior largely intact. The combination of a larger battery, more powerful rear motor, active suspension, and rear-wheel steering positions the updated Mega as a more capable and comfortable option in China's competitive electric MPV market.
