ReSony Indefinitely Postpones Pulse Elevate Speaker Launch Over Production Issue
Sony has indefinitely postponed the launch of its Pulse Elevate wireless speakers for PlayStation, which were due to go on sale in a few days, due to a production issue identified during quality control.
Sony has indefinitely postponed the release of its Pulse Elevate wireless speakers for PlayStation, which were due to go on sale just a few days later. The company announced this in an update to a PlayStation blog post dated November 6, 2026. The global launch was originally scheduled for November 12, but Sony has not named a new date.
The company attributed the delay to a "production issue" discovered during a quality check. The official statement does not disclose the nature of this problem, so it is currently unknown what exactly went wrong. It is also not reported how many devices were released before the decision to delay was made, or whether the problem affects units that have already been produced. These questions remain unanswered until the company provides a detailed comment on the situation.
The Pulse Elevate speakers were announced in September of last year. They cost $219.99. The devices are available in two colors: Midnight Black and White. They feature a microphone with an AI-based noise suppression function designed to filter out background sounds during conversations and gaming. The speakers are compatible with PS5, PC, Mac, and PlayStation Portal, meaning they can be used with the console, computers, and Sony's handheld device.
The postponement applies to one of the accessories Sony offers as part of its gaming ecosystem. Roughly two months passed between the September announcement and the planned November launch, during which the device had already appeared in pre-orders and attracted audience attention. Now, customers who placed orders and potential buyers do not know when the speakers will arrive in stores, as the company has announced neither a new date nor a plan of further action.
Cancelling the release date just days before sales were due to start means the delay affected the final stage of product preparation. Quality checks, during which the problem was discovered, are usually conducted directly before products are shipped to stores, so the timing of the defect's discovery calls the device's launch readiness into question. Sony has not yet explained why the problem was not identified at earlier stages of production.
For PlayStation users, this decision means that plans to expand their home audio setup will have to be put on hold. Until the company publishes a new date, the wait continues for further updates through official PlayStation channels, where the postponement announcement appeared.
