What Dominique Frot is working on now

Dominique Frot’s current slate is easier to understand if it is divided into what has a firm date, what has finished shooting, and what is still only listed in her own professional updates. As of August 2026, the French actress has one major release clearly scheduled for the fall, at least two other recently completed films, and an ongoing role in a Paris festival devoted to young actors.

The firm date belongs to Karma, Guillaume Canet’s psychological thriller. The film screened out of competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and is scheduled to open in France on October 21. Marion Cotillard and Denis Ménochet lead the cast, with Leonardo Sbaraglia, Luis Zahera and others in the ensemble. Professional production listings and Frot’s representation both credit her in the film. Shooting ran in 2025 across locations in Spain and France before the project moved into postproduction.

The next project is Le Pire du milieu, a comedy directed by Éric Judor. Production records show filming in Île-de-France from September 22 to October 31, 2025, with Frot among the performers and Gaumont attached as distributor. The project has had alternate working titles, which can make online listings look inconsistent. More importantly, the production record reviewed for this update does not give a settled French release date. It is confirmed work, but not yet a dated release.

Les Âmes en peine is in a similar position. Directed by Quarxx, it is described as a fantasy drama set in the 19th century, where a mysterious affliction transforms a village and fuels a conflict between ideas of science, faith and social control. Scriptoclap lists the film as completed and includes Frot in the cast alongside Thierry Frémont, Jean-Baptiste Maunier and Ophélia Kolb. A precise release timetable has not been established in the same way as Karma’s.

A separate part of Frot’s activity is institutional rather than promotional. The third Festival International des Jeunes Acteurs took place in Paris from April 17–24, 2026. Frot is part of the festival team and served as president of the film-school short-film jury associated with Pass Culture. The event has already opened submissions for its 2027 edition. That role is consistent with the less visible side of her career, which has included stage direction, teaching, script reading and work with emerging artists.

Her most recent released films also remain in circulation. Dites-lui que je l’aime, directed by Romane Bohringer, opened in France on December 3, 2025 and continued to appear in international festival programs in 2026. Frot is credited as “Dominique” in the film. In La Tournée, released in June 2025, she played Madame Closier. In God Save the Tuche, she appeared as Lady Gin To; TF1+ currently lists the comedy as a rental title. Chopin, Chopin! also credits her as an aristocrat in a recent international period production.

Frot’s official website adds three more names: Scènes de ménage, Nébuleuse and Triple je, all shown under its “En tournage” section. Those entries should not be read as a precise 2026 schedule. The page also contains festival information still dated to 2025, which suggests that parts of its status labeling have not been updated uniformly. The safest wording is that these projects remain on Frot’s own public work list while independent dates are still missing.

That leaves a clear hierarchy of confidence. Karma is the next dated release. Le Pire du milieu and Les Âmes en peine are verified completed or shot projects. FIJA is a verified 2026 public commitment. Scènes de ménage, Nébuleuse and Triple je are acknowledged by the actress’s own site but need fresh outside confirmation before they are presented as imminent releases. This distinction matters because Frot’s career is active enough that a long project list can easily become misleading if every title is treated as arriving at once.
