ReIn-N-Out CEO Lynsi Snyder Hints at Expansion Into Arkansas, Mississippi and Oklahoma

In-N-Out Burger CEO Lynsi Snyder said Arkansas, Mississippi and Oklahoma are possible future states for the California-based chain, while stressing that quality and culture matter more than rapid growth.

In-N-Out Burger CEO Lynsi Snyder has hinted that the California-based fast-food chain could expand into Arkansas, Mississippi and Oklahoma in the years ahead. Speaking in an interview with television host Terry Crews, Snyder said the company is in no rush to grow, and that quality matters more than the number of restaurants it opens.

Snyder, whose grandparents Harry and Esther Snyder co-founded In-N-Out in 1948, said the company is focused on keeping its standards intact. "I just want to make sure that everything is right and that our In-N-Out family is strong, and we're retaining all those values," she said, pointing to the chain's cleanliness, quality and friendly service. She added that if the company felt it was slipping or losing its way, its growth plans would look very different.

When asked about the pace of expansion, Snyder said that while the chain might seem to be "growing like crazy," it is not. She described a sense of peace in the fact that In-N-Out is not in every city, and she named the three states as "possibilities" without offering a timeline. The company has also said that all ingredients are delivered fresh to each restaurant, and that its website notes it does not own a microwave or freezer.

The chain's footprint has grown in recent years. In August 2025, Washington state welcomed its first In-N-Out restaurant. Last year, the company opened its first Tennessee location on Dec. 10, marking its easternmost presence to date. Snyder's company now has five stores in Tennessee, with a sixth listed as coming soon. The company also announced in 2023 that New Mexico will get its first In-N-Out restaurant in 2027, which would make it the chain's 11th state.

Despite its expansion, the chain remains concentrated in its home state. With 299 locations in California, In-N-Out shows no sign of moving away from its roots. "This is where we started, it's where we are now and it's where we'll always be," Snyder said. Burgers are made from fresh beef at the company's patty-making facilities in California and Texas. The chain began as a 100-square-foot burger stand in Baldwin Park, a suburb of Los Angeles, and its original California location was the state's first drive-thru. Harry Snyder created the two-way speaker system used to talk with customers in their cars, according to the company.

Fox News Digital reached out to In-N-Out for further comment and details. No timeline for openings in Arkansas, Mississippi or Oklahoma has been announced.
