ReMick Gordon to Bring Doom Live Show to Festivals Worldwide

Composer Mick Gordon says his headlining Doom concert at RADAR 2027 is the start of a two-year touring plan, with a second show at the Czech Republic's Brutal Assault Festival already confirmed.

Composer and guitarist Mick Gordon is planning to take his live performances of music from Doom and Doom Eternal far beyond a single headline slot, telling IGN at PAX Australia that his agency is working on a two-year touring plan that could bring the show to festivals around the world.

Two dates are already confirmed. Gordon will headline the UK's RADAR festival on August 1, 2027, performing with a band and a live orchestra. A few days later he will appear at the Brutal Assault Festival in the Czech Republic, held in a medieval castle, on a bill that includes Children of Bodom, Knocked Loose, and Humanity's Last Breath. Gordon described Brutal Assault as an incredible 25,000-person metal festival.

The RADAR announcement triggered immediate interest from promoters. «I instantly started getting offers from the European metal festival circuit,» Gordon said. «My agency and I are talking about doing this for the next two years. There are a number of events across the whole world that we're hoping to take this show to. So there's going to be a lot of news coming on that front.»

For fans who cannot reach the UK or Europe, that touring plan is the clearest signal yet that the production may eventually travel to them. Gordon framed the project as an attempt to combine two things he loves: the excitement of video game music and the energy of a live rock or metal show.

«For a long time I've wanted to take what I find really exciting about videogame music and marry it with what I find really exciting about a live rock and metal show,» he said. He acknowledged the orchestral concert tradition in which audiences sit in formal settings to hear game scores performed, calling that approach fantastic, but said his goal is different. «Nobody has done this thing where you have this massive circle mosh pit with videogame music,» he said, adding that a set of fortunate circumstances left him best positioned to deliver that experience.

The setlist is expected to draw on Gordon's best-known Doom material, including Rip & Tear, BFG Division, and At Doom's Gate. Those tracks helped define the sound of the 2016 Doom reboot and its sequel, blending industrial metal, electronic textures, and low-tuned guitar work. Performing them with both a band and an orchestra is intended to give festival audiences a version of the music that is heavier and more physical than a standard symphonic game concert.

Gordon's comments at PAX Australia also underline how the live game music circuit has expanded. Orchestral tours for major franchises have become common, but metal and rock festivals have only recently begun to treat game soundtracks as headline material. Gordon's plan places Doom alongside the traditional metal acts that share those bills, rather than in a seated concert hall.

In the meantime, Gordon has new music arriving for players. He composed the soundtrack for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, which launches October 14 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version to follow at a later date. The release gives fans a fresh dose of his heavy metal style while the live show plans develop.

No additional tour dates have been announced, and Gordon did not specify which countries or festivals are under discussion. His agency is expected to reveal more details as the two-year plan takes shape, with the RADAR headline set in August 2027 serving as the first full outing of the band-and-orchestra format.
