ReCathie Wood’s ARK sells Alphabet shares, buys Freenome

ARK Invest sold roughly $24.8 million of Alphabet stock on October 23, 2026, while adding to its position in Freenome, the blood-based cancer screening developer.

Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest sold about $24.8 million worth of Alphabet stock in its latest daily trading disclosure, while buying more shares of Freenome. The trades were reported in the fund’s activity for Friday, October 23, 2026, and they point to a shift in how Wood is allocating capital across her portfolio.

The largest move was the sale of 77,167 Alphabet shares, the parent company of Google, carried out across the ARKK and ARKW exchange-traded funds for a total of $24,752,086. Alphabet has long been a fixture in ARK’s holdings, so the sale is being read as a strategic reallocation rather than a routine adjustment. Earlier in the autumn, the firm had also trimmed its Alphabet position, according to Motley Fool reporting that noted Alphabet’s search and cloud businesses were still showing strong growth.

On the buying side, ARK purchased 169,498 Freenome shares through its ARKG fund, a transaction worth $2,220,423. The purchase followed a similar buy the previous day, which the disclosure described as a sign of growing confidence in the company’s potential. Freenome develops blood-based screening tests aimed at detecting cancer early, and it applies multiomics, machine learning and blood-based signals to that work. Its shares began trading only a few months earlier, which adds to their volatility. The stock had also fallen nearly 30 percent from its high the previous month before rising 7 percent on October 20.

The same daily disclosure showed other changes. ARK sold 12,001 shares of Cloudflare across the ARKK and ARKW funds, worth $3,643,623, and offloaded 42,499 shares of Circle Internet Group through ARKW, valued at $3,681,263. It also added 270,693 shares of Pacific Biosciences of California through the ARKK and ARKG funds, a purchase totaling $557,627. Taken together, the trades show Wood continuing to trim exposure in several technology names while adding to biotech holdings.

ARK Invest, founded by Wood in 2014, manages more than $30 billion through actively managed exchange-traded funds. Its flagship Innovation ETF has seen mixed results recently. Yahoo Finance data cited in a recent report showed the fund up 16.51 percent for the year at that point, compared with a 14.11 percent gain for the S&P 500, while its five-year annualized return trailed the index. Investors will be watching whether these adjustments align with ARK’s long-term strategy, which centers on companies it believes are driving disruptive innovation.
